Indie Rock icons The Libertines have announced their 2021 UK Giddy Up A Ding-Dong tour. Pete Doherty and crew will head out on tour for the first time in 2 years, hitting 14 venues on the road including a two night run at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town.
The tour kicks off in late November with a performance at the O2 Academy Bournemouth on Thursday 25th before trips through Brighton, Norwich, Birmingham, Leeds, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester, Cardiff, London, Bristol, Nottingham and culminating on Thursday 16th December at the O2 Academy Sheffield.
Often known for their drug fueled antics, Pete Doherty, who now resides in France, has recently revealed he’s mostly clean these days while finding joy in French cheese on toast and sleeping. He told The Sun ‘For years and years, I would stay up for five or six days and then I would sleep for 24 hour, so now I love sleep.”
Regarding a follow up to 2015’s album ‘Anthems For Doomed Youth’, in October Carl Barat told NME “It’s been going well, but it’s been difficult with COVID”. “We started writing here, and that was going really well but John [Hassall, bass] is in Denmark and Pete [Doherty] is in France”.
Tickets for the Giddy Up A Ding-Dong tour go on general sale through Gigs and Tours at 9am on Friday 16th April. Pre-sale starts 9am on Wednesday 14th April.
